Abstract

Green infrastructure is increasingly recognized as an important strategy for strengthening urban resilience to climate change. However, its effectiveness depends on ecological performance and the conditions supporting implementation. This study employs a narrative literature review to examine the contribution of green infrastructure to urban climate resilience, drawing on 20 identified scientific publications from 2020 to 2025. The review focuses on urban heat mitigation, stormwater management, flood risk reduction, ecosystem services, spatial planning, and governance. The synthesis indicates that green infrastructure can reduce environmental pressures through cooling, infiltration, and ecological regulation. Nevertheless, these benefits vary according to intervention design, location, maintenance, and institutional capacity. The study develops an integrative conceptual framework connecting green infrastructure characteristics, ecological performance, and urban resilience, with planning, governance, and environmental equity as enabling conditions. The findings emphasize that effective climate adaptation requires integrated, context-sensitive, and equitable green infrastructure strategies supported by long-term institutional commitment.
