Post-Publication Discussion Policy

Post-Publication Discussion Policy

Technology and Society Perspectives (TACIT) supports constructive scholarly discussion of published research as an important part of academic transparency, critical evaluation, and the continuing development of knowledge.

1. Scope

Post-publication discussion may address research methods, data interpretation, theoretical arguments, ethical concerns, limitations, and other substantive matters relating to articles published in TACIT.

Comments should contribute to scholarly understanding and must be supported by reasoned arguments or relevant evidence.

2. Submission of Comments

Readers, researchers, and other interested parties may submit comments or concerns through the journal's official contact page.

Submissions should identify the article concerned, explain the issue clearly, and provide relevant supporting information.

Anonymous or confidential reports may be considered where sufficient evidence is available for meaningful assessment.

3. Editorial Assessment

The editorial team evaluates comments for scholarly relevance, factual basis, clarity, and compliance with professional standards.

Personal attacks, discriminatory statements, abusive language, and unsupported allegations are not acceptable.

The journal may decline to consider comments that do not raise substantive scholarly issues.

4. Author Response

Where appropriate, the editorial team may invite the corresponding author or other relevant authors to respond.

Authors should address substantive concerns respectfully and provide supporting evidence or clarification when requested.

5. Corrections and Retractions

When post-publication discussion identifies material errors, unreliable findings, or serious ethical concerns, the editorial team may initiate a formal assessment.

Possible outcomes include clarification, correction, retraction, or another appropriate editorial notice.

Such decisions will follow the journal's Publication Ethics and Correction and Retraction policies.

6. Editorial Independence and Transparency

The editorial team is responsible for determining whether comments, author responses, or editorial notices should be published.

Decisions will prioritize scholarly integrity, fairness, proportionality, and the reliability of the published record.
